5 Ways to Make Wire Fencing More Beautiful

Wire fencing is extremely functional, and it often tends to be less expensive than wood privacy fencing or decorative wrought iron fencing. However, it isn't always the most attractive option. If you want to go with wire at your home, office or industrial space, consider beautifying the fence with some of the following ideas.

1. Wood Posts

In lieu of metal posts, consider installing your wire fencing with wood posts. This lends an air of permanence to your wire fence, and the mix of metal and wood creates a charming and stylish look with an industrial vibe. You can go for the rustic look of cedar posts or the solid durability of railroad ties. If you eventually decide to upgrade to wood panels you already have the posts in place.

2. Panels

Sometimes, wire fencing can sag over time. To prevent that from happening, you should work with a professional fence installer who can help tighten the wires. Alternatively, consider skipping the strands of wire or the rolls of wire fencing, and instead go for welded wire panels. They are sturdy straight off the bat, and you don't have to worry about them sagging.

3. Wood Frame

Instead of just doing wood posts, consider framing your wire fence with wood. If you're using mesh panels, hog wire, chicken wire or basically any wire besides barbed wire, you can easily frame the metal in wood. For instance, you can make panels out of wood and wire and put those in between your posts. Alternatively, you can start with a post-and-rail fence and attach wire behind it to make it more useful.

4. Colourful Privacy Strips

If you have a traditional mesh wire fence, consider adding some beauty and privacy with privacy strips. These pieces of fabric weave through the metal holes of your fence. They add colour, and they prevent people from being able to see into your area. Consider weaving together a few different colours to create the optimal effect.

5. Plants

A wire fence is a blank tableau just waiting for climbing plants. To decorate your fence, consider using it as a trellis for a variety of plants. You can go with a simple flowering vine. Or, if you want to integrate something edible, put in peas, climbing squashes, grape vines, raspberry bushes or something along those lines. With a minimum of care, you can create a flowering wire fence that combines shade, privacy and beauty.

About Me

Educating Yourself on Industrial Work and Manufacturing

I always thought my children would follow in my footsteps and run our family business, so I was surprised when my daughter told me she wanted to pursue a degree in industrial engineering instead. At first, I had no idea what she found interesting about the industrial and manufacturing sector, so I started to do some research into it. Imagine my shock when I found myself becoming fascinated by it too! Of course, since someone still has to run the family business, I don't have the luxury of following my daughter's path. For now, I'll settle for doing my own research into it and sharing what I've learned here.
